Diatribe The Phantom Stranger - Gossiping

Do I hear you? Do I hear you gossiping
Do, do I, I hear you, hear you
Do I hear you? Do I hear you gossiping
Okay
I've overcome adversity
But some prefer to think I don't deserve the things I've earned
No, you're convinced I didn't work for these achievements
Even think that you deserve it more than me
But fortunately for you
You ain't seen the sort of morbid horror scenes
That haunt your dreams
You ain't heard the blood-curdling, tortured screams
You don't know about the murder
Or how to learn to turn the cheek
I was forged in war and flourished
Forcing forward towards a form of peace
From corner teens
Feeling cornered like they're quarantined
Funerals occurring quarterly
We mourn with grief for innocence
but in a sense it didn't end
But they certainly didn't expect that I'd emerge a beast
A warrior, moving with a sense of urgency
Blood boiling
Temper rising like it's mercury
Now kneel before the prince
I am Hercules
Standing tall
You were all short and weak
You couldn't hold a torch to me
Now step aside and let me be what I was born to be
Cause I've overcome too much hardship
To listen to you people gossip
And you were just haters regardless
Got something to say
Than step to my face
I scraped my way up from the bottom
I've been through too much in my life
To listen to you people whine
I really must be on your mind
You're hanging around
My name in your mouth
Is what you do with your time
But I'ma continue to shine
Cause I've overcome too much hardship
To listen to you people gossip
You were just haters regardless
Got something to say, that's left in my face
I scraped my way up from the bottom
I'm not the one that you want it with
But if you wanna talk about politics
Let's talk about what your father is
Got your job, it's obvious
All of them
Squawk like broads keep gossiping
When I was raised in poverty
Fatherless
so you can not take away my accomplishment
Absurd
Google my name and examine my record
So spare me the lecture about family connections
I fought to be here, you were handed professions
Out here I'm a legend,
Commanded respected
You're just here for the pension
The fact that you managed to mention my name in a sentence
It's really pathetic
You clearly are threatened by standards I'm setting
But dammit, I get it,
I'm Gambit, I gambled and ran the gamut
And now my hand is a weapon
When penning my feelings
And venting my pent up aggression
When really I'm just answering questions
Like why can't he just end it
Now give 'em pat on the back for the effort
Now the trick of the trade's not give into the hate
And continue my way to progression
But first I'm a teacher 'em a lesson in etiquette
Don't ever think you better than
Cause you ain't never done anything
And you ain't been where I been
I started out at a deficit
Then I went neck and neck
And now I'm getting ahead of them
You're envious, so it makes sense pessimist
But I got too many friends that are dead
And blood has been shed, so I'll never be negative
Im not one to spread a rumor
You can always trust me to keep shhh up
Cause I've overcome too much hardship
To listen to you people gossip
And you were just haters regardless
Got something to say
Than step to my face
I scraped my way up from the bottom
I've been through too much in my life
To listen to you people whine
I really must be on your mind
You're hanging around
My name in your mouth
Is what you do with your time
But I'ma continue to shine
Cause I've overcome too much hardship
To listen to you people gossip
You were just haters regardless
Got something to say, that's left in my face
I scraped my way up from the bottom
And as for you gossiping bloggers
Posting anonymous comments
You will not get acknowledged
You're hostile at progress
I have constantly conquered
Any obstacle you could possibly conjure
You are just frauds and impostors
And part of the problem
But I am beyond you and onward
See I just wanted to give back
Maybe have a bit of an impact
I didn't think that
For a minute
I'd have to listen
To this crap
Critics whisper and twist facts
If you're so interested in my past
You could've just asked
Here's my references
Peep my resume
Impressive eh
Let's just set the record straight
And let me educate these second graders
