G-therz - A Growing Seed
Yeah
Let me bring it back to when it all began
G-therz in da hous! Let's take it back to 8th grade
Back to a time when my first rap was made
After being inspired from listening to Rap God
When I was kid that was quite odd
I showed the other kids that I can rap
Looking back now, the lines were pretty crap
But at time I thought I was the best at this
'Cause I was the only one in town in the biz
That's why I would always be cocky
But talking about stuff that ain't me
With only a few rappers that I'd bump to
But not hear the content all the way through
When I would rap, I'd whisper a word I'd cuss
So nobody heard what I said on the bus
I could barely freestyle, it was all written
Didn't have a deep voice when I was spitting
Wrote stupid songs, it was all I could think of
Especially the one that I dropped about love
I had to record with others and couldn't make a beat
This was a rough start of a growing seed
Grow with me, a growing seed
That goes through life as it passes through time
Grow with me, a growing seed
And see how the thoughts come from my mind
So grow with me, the growing seed
And notice the changes, watch the process
Grow with me, the growing seed
That is in the makings, a working progress
Now let's bring it to my first year in high school
After a summer that wasn't alright too
Got rejected and fell out with my producer, yo
But I formed a group and I got my own studio
I didn't really know anything on how to mix and beats
Listening to lyricists but my shit was weak
I made my own label and I called it Rood Man
Brought in MC K as my recruit and
We barely knew what to do with this music
We made corny stuff and thought this is cool shit
I didn't put in impactful punches and was bad at fast spitting
Slurring the words off the beat and lacked rhythm
During this time, my heart started to feel colder
Because a broad hated me for real though, ugh
At the time, I started making beats that were bad plus
They weren't hip hop and my raps sucked
I rushed recording and mixing for Therzday
Songs weren't leveled and they came out the worst way
Yet I did my first live rapping though at a talent show
I killed it, but I still knew I have to grow
Grow with me, a growing seed
That goes through life as it passes through time
Grow with me, a growing seed
And see how the thoughts come from my mind
So grow with me, the growing seed
And notice the changes, watch the process
Grow with me, the growing seed
That is in the makings, a working progress
Yo back as a sophomore, I went hip hop hardcore
Viewed as dark horse while making my bars raw
'Cause everybody thought I was as whack as in the past
But got more aggressive being battle-esque with raps
Mostly slowed down my flow, but picking up the cadence a bit
Had few collabs to help with me when I was making my shit
My writing style developed though with sure complicated schemes
So technical but they were more hot than they have seen
Bitches I once liked were getting disses though in subliminals
Was a beast in the booth so lyrical just spitting flows
Dropped Trihplah H and Said Too Much, but didn't fucking have hype
My beats turned off people 'cause it wasn't trap type
It still lacked music theory, it was a huge problem
But yet I had an idea to fuse together two genres
Jazz and trap music, since I do like both of them
Had to plan out how it can work slicker than petroleum
But I had complications with preoccupied project making
And there was no show though for me to rock and play in
So I was a bit forgotten 'cause I ain't generic, oh whatever
At least I was flowing clever and this seed was growing better
Grow with me, a growing seed
That goes through life as it passes through time
Grow with me, a growing seed
And see how the thoughts come from my mind
So grow with me, the growing seed
And notice the changes, watch the process
Grow with me, the growing seed
That is in the makings, a working progress
Yo this G-therz in my junior year, combination of cool and weird
A man of harsher bars expanding RMR right into ya ear
Putting my hardest, projects of new artists, making my label developing
Jazz, alternative and hip hop, all creative in excellence
Got more connects for collaborations since I've signed Cruz too
Plus some other woman stepped into my life and became my new muse
While I got a bit stranger, when increasing the speeding but speaking with meaning
I double the time when I'm busting a rhyme, chopping it as people can see then
More people I met knew of me 'cause of my biking and my ego
But they don't know that I'm more aware of how I'd be though
People thought I quit when I said I'm finna take a little break
But it was to have jazz trap come into play with Trihplah H
Nowadays when I articulate, I speak clearly
It ain't common for someone like me here be
Pimping butterflies Illmatic with low end theories
As the swinging of jazz brings in a smooth flow, ya hear me
And I'm more than just an MC with this rhyming shit
I'm an entrepreneur, executive producer and this kid's been writing scripts
As you can see, the seed has grown, but this ain't the end for me though
Only time will really tell on how the story goes
Grow with me, a growing seed
That goes through life as it passes through time
Grow with me, a growing seed
And see how the thoughts come from my mind
So grow with me, the growing seed
And notice the changes, watch the process
Grow with me, the growing seed
That is in the makings, a working progress
From once being a kid listening to the Beatles and pop on the radio I'd play
To being 13 having Eminem be inspiration to make my own hip hop all day
A growing seed indeed
