Ride the waves; up and down
Consume the news, that's going around
As numbers climb, I hear the sound
Lungs filling up my heartbeat pounds

At times I dream that I float in the sky
And need to deflate to come down from the high
Other times I dream, I'm fighting for air
Trapped under water, consumed with despair
Fight to the surface, to reach the outside
And wake from these moments

Oxygen starvation suffocates our nation
It's hard to breathe or take a mental vacation
Roll back my shoulders, stand up tall
Sip in the air, be aware of it all
Release it slowly out through your nose
Find the firm grounding, beneath my toes
Eliminate thoughts consuming inside
Reset these moments, through a deep heavy sigh
