Aida & First Love Music - I Got The Call Of God

I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
From the time that I was young, I knew that God had called me
I used to say that I would be in full-time ministry
But when I grew up, I changed my mind
I changed the vision for my life
I didn't want to go that far with God

I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
Then I had many relationships that took my heart away from God
They took me away from the call of the mission

Before I knew it, I was down and out
See, I was too soft for full-time ministry
I had no more zeal for the things I've done

I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
Then I gave myself to schooling, and I wanted to study more and more
I said to myself, if I had many degrees, I'd really be rich
All my dreams would come true
I was all out for education
But I didn't want to go all out with God

I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I felt that God should wait for me while I sought myself out
While I sought myself out, I said, when I am old, when I retire
I'll serve the Lord, but life goes by so very quickly
Circumstances killed my vision for full-time ministry
I didn't want to go all out with God

I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far

How can I turn around and do what I didn't want to do
Why was I so wise in my own eyes
Why didn't I listen to the call
I wanted to serve the Lord, but Pharaoh would not let me go
Why didn't I want to go all out with God

Did you get the call of God
Did you get the call of God
But I didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far

So let me tell you, my friends
When you hear the call to full-time ministry
say yes, make haste, take up your cross
There's no time to lose

There's no time to fool around
Your life is a vapor
It vanishes so very quickly
If you don't believe me, you'll end up singing the same song

You got the call of God, but you didn't want to go that far
Isn't it
You got the call of God, but you didn't want to go that far
I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far

I got the call of God, but I didn't want to go that far
You got the call of God, but you didn't want to go that far
So you have no time to lose
You have no time to fool around
