Longshot TX - I Hate Being Old

On the day that I retired I thought I had a plan
Now I'd be free to do the things I missed as a young man
That's when mother nature said she had a plan or two
Now that you're old there's limits on the things that you can do

I'm not sure I understand how it all came to this
Where I can't hear and I can't see and all my joints are stiff
They call these these the golden years but I am not consoled

Pretty girls don't notice me it's like that I'm not there
I always wear a baseball cap to hide my thinning hair
I may walk into a room and then seem lost in thought
I know I'm there for something but I can't remember what
