Bhakti Rasa dasa - Immense Compassion

Only out of his immense compassion
Does the personality of godhead
Reveal himself as the spiritual master
It's a very serendipitous thing

Only out of his intense compassion
Does krishna reveal himself as the spiritual master

In other words, we should not see the spiritual master
As different from the Lord
We should understand that the lord
Has come to us in the form of his devotee
He has told everybody

Just like
Krishna didn't go apparently to Vrindavana
He sent uddhava
But uddhava was practically like another Krishna

Whatever krishna would say
Uddhava said for him

So whatever krishna wants us to know
We will know it through our guru
And if our guru says something
We should never become angry with him
We should never think him to be saying something
Uh because of the modes of material nature
We should always understand that he is acting on behalf of krishna

Therefore in the dealings of an acharya
There are no activities but those of transcendental service to the lord
He is the supreme personality of servitor to godhead
It is worthwhile to take shelter of such a steady devotee
Who is called ashraya-vigraha
Or the manifestational form of the lord
Of whom one must take shelter

That's one explanation of the word ashraya vigraha
There's another way also to say
That he is the repository of love for krishna
And therefore by taking shelter of him
He shares with us that love krishna has for us
