Snake enters through a cracked wall over there

Then coiled themself looking Joe in the face
Ankle or hand the snake asked Joe
Questioning how the man would prefer to go
Why can't we begin with the devouring
Joe said inadvertently overpowering
The snake's dichotomy stedfast and set
Replied "I'm might hurt my fragile neck
