Robby M. King - Just Before the Dawn

Good and the bad with the pretty and the ugly, seem like everything good is above me
Down here living in the dark while I wonder how would I grow when I'm deep down under?
Here I am and it's quarter past four and the mind feeling like it is going through war
I been in this night while I wait next door for the sun coming up as it peeks onshore
One side dark and the other side bright, let me flip this coin I could see who's right
So I flip this night just to get rid of, 'till the sun comes out and it's right above
Now I been in every minute while I'm waiting I admit it I been doing nothing rather
I been finding every moment
Where I'm livid just to counteract the many feelings so that I be feeling brighter ain't nowhere
I'm finding an opponent

I been waiting for the sun
Has it waited for me?
Will it even come back?
Will it shine above me?

Light then it's dark with the pretty and the ugly, seems like they would even out and it's lovely
Something's up all I hear is thunder, while I fight strong down here in the bunker
Everything's right when the balance is strong
But that is not the case something's not where they belong
Interference in the scale, other side is falling down, staying up all night in the water I drown
Say it straight up I am tired of the dark, I been missing that star that be shining all the way
Say it straight up never gotten that spark, 'till I gotten real near that would brighten my day
No more staying up through the night long
Need the bright light feeling cause the night is feeling wrong
Pull an all-nighter I be changing my sleeping time so the body
And the normal time would get along

I been waiting for the sun
Has it waited for me?
Will it even come back?
Will it shine above me?

Missing that time when the sun would shine
I took it for granted, I chose to confine
Stay inside cause the mind feels tired and my spirit feels weak
Got an ache in my spine
Never really know what you have got until it's gone
Taking every single feeling to avoid it settle on
Once you get it back, pretend that it is nowhere near you so appreciate it more
'Till the greediness fear you
Now that it is gone, I'll be waiting for the dawn
I'll be counting every minute for the moment 'till it spawns
Crack of dawn is coming I be looking for the surface
To containing my excitement all for me to jump on
I be second guessing cause you know that it was gone for a reason
Now I wonder will it ever respond?
I been waiting for the sun, has it waited for me?
Will it even come back? Will it shine above me?

I been waiting for the sun
Has it waited for me?
Will it even come back?
Will it shine above me?

It's like everything turned grey
