Cashflow Colly - Limits

I been stuck inside my box
But I'm breaking off that lock
I came to find that what I am
Is everything they not
So I'm a give my everything
And give it all I got
As long as God is watching out
Then shit I know I got a shot
I wrote my first rhyme
When it was graded for a class
Who woulda thought I'd take it here
And elevate my craft
I focused on my pen
Because I wasn't great at math
Shit I was zoning out in chem
But still I find myself in labs
It's funny how that pans out
Even when you plan how
You gon take your path
Just know that life gon throw that slant route
At you
And you gon run it cus you have
Lot of folks been asking me what has you
Been up to in the last few couple months
Man I been chillin
You workin on your music still
Or did you finally give in
Theres not a shame in saying that you isnt
If you quitting
Cus you know that we all ain't born to go and raise that ceiling
I sit back and I'm grinning
I sit back and I'm drifting
And nod my head as if that conversation
I am still in
But truth be told talks like those
I hardly ever listen, to
It hurts me every time I hear that point of view
It's true
Makes me wonder why these people
Always tryna put their limits on me
Their limits on me, hey
Cus I believe that I can be the one to make it
And that's what they don't see
That's what they don't see
Why can't I be free
Hey
See what I believe is tragic
But I also think it's true
Some failed to chase their dream
Now they want that same for you
They didn't make the league
Or take that rocket to the moon
Now they want you in that job that
Keeps you locked inside a room
Disguise it as protection or as plain concern
They just making sure you make about what
They can earn
See I tried explaining shit
I tried to make em learn
But it's like I was speaking spanish
While we trading words
Fuck it then I'll skate and burn
Down that road that's risky
But I would opt for that
Instead of asking when I'm fifty
What if I took a chance and bet it all
Would I see victory
Well shit I guess Ill never know
In fact remains a mystery
Imagine all the misery
Reliving out your history
I'll try to save you now
So can you entertain my inquiry
If you had one more chance
At livin right and it went quickly
How would you spend that chance
Before they lay you down in six feet
Huh
Makes me wonder why these people
Always tryna put their limits on me
Their limits on me, hey
Cus I believe that I can be the one to make it
And that's what they don't see
That's what they don't see
Why can't I be free
Hey
