The Cooley Gang - Logan County Man

I'm a Logan County man
One day I slipped from my mommas hands
I heard my daddy call out to me as I vanished from the misty land
I fell into the river
The blowed-out flooded kind
And I ripped down that muddy hell torrent
Till' I was buried head first in the black bankfull sand

But he saw my foot and he dug me out
And he pulled the choking sand from my mouth
And he got my heart beating I don't know how
And I'm here today with a constant nightmare on my brow

I'm a Logan County native
That flood took my whole life away
Those slurry dams that broke
That town that washed away
The company said it was an act of God
God made it rain and rain
But God didn't built the earthin dams
And God didn't drive the dozers to take that coal away
