Spider Cues - Many Moons Ago

Through the wave of concave fears,
And long-run road through rear-view mirrors,
Hindsight defined the line,
In scattered streetlights and highway signs,

Stone set to take the reigns,
Is a present past-life at the gates,
As deep stares decipher fine print font,
“The here, the now, the afterthought,”

Wide were your eyes,
And your face was flushed of life,
Still, said you knew it from the start,
Moth to a flame,
Down the road that ends the same,
But that was many moons ago,

Time has a way,
Of letting all things wash away,
Still, said you knew it from the start,
Stop, and a stare,
Never here but always there,
It’s just enough to play the part,
Fan to the flame,
It’s a slow-spread counterclaim,
In present day,
But that was many moons ago,
