I am truly thankful
For your astute spirit given from God that has protected me from any form of predator
You and my father were the editors
The father chose to ignorantly be absent, you chose to stay, which means
I'm the undeserving successor, I know I said undeserving, I know I don't deserve you
By yourself, birth you gave to me Through God, you showed me hope whenever I felt unworthy of recognizing myself as a king
Because I didn't have a man consistently around to show me how to be one
You couldn't teach me how to be a man
But you taught me how to live in my truth
How to display youth in my creativity
And also give thanks to the Lord for the spew of grace and mercy
Shielding our flesh repeatedly for almost 18 years
I ask for forgiveness, anything I did to spite you, pettiness
Through any action I've presented dishonor, I sincerely apologize
Intelligence and beauty are truly understatements
The state of art you show in your writing is something
I will always aspire to achieve, experience of thick and thin, it's been you and me
You are the true definition of a parent, provided multiple blessings and self esteem
