Smooth Doubleb - My Poem About You

I’m not just doing this because of you or maybe I am
I found a new part of me when I met her
And this new part doesn’t know how to stay quiet and just observe
Do you remember when we first read little prince together
And I was so upset when he died at the end
I couldn’t understand why he would choose death to go back to his rose
I think I understand it now
I’m not choosing death
It’s just if I don’t go I wouldn’t really know what it’s like to be alive
Love you, Brandon
Ima tell you a story okay
So it’s summer in Massachusetts
And your suffering through another boring hot July
Working part time at the ice cream parlor
One day the ice cream parlor runs out of ice cream and that happens
Your dad says hey let’s go to Virginia Beach
I’m in Boston suffering through another boring hot summer working at the garage
Running off to some fancy university
My mom can’t bear to see her baby leave
So she packs us up for one last week together at Virginia Beach
And then as faith has it on our last day at the beach I spot you
I mean I’m in the middle of me playing volleyball with my best friend
But it feels like everyone else disappears
And your walking towards me
You have these big sunglasses on earbuds in music blaring
Your beautiful and you keep smiling and laughing looking out at the water
But all I want to look at is you
And then I tell you that I love you
