Stucco the Great - Open Letter

Yeah
Longevity nigga
To whoever it may concern
You know (aha)
Yeah
Don't Ask, You're Not Ready two
For real though
Yeah yeah

For the longest time I've been tryn'a make you proud
Couldn't do no wrong except max out my credit card
Pay for studio time just to have my songs played in cars
They say the sky is the limit but I'm still reaching for the stars
Wrote the soundtrack to my life but they wasn't ready
Told me that I'm young to be rapping like I'm thirty
They said I'm good but I sound like I'm always angry
And when I'm not rapping, I take it out on my family
That's not true though, I don't got anger issues
I just like to spread a message, you know the marathon continues
They don't see the beauty in my lyrical content
They call my discography a fucking mythical project
They not to blame though, the music industry's fucked up
I wrote a letter to my younger self, I feel hyped up
For what's to come
Do not ask, you're not ready
Explicit like Akinyele
Too deep like Dr. Sebi (yeah)

I feel like every time I rap people tend to misconceptualize everything I say
They paint me as this horrible person
They put me in a juxtaposition
Comparing me to so and so
Knowing very well that I got substance
And I'm not your average rapper
And no I'm not one for the chit-chat
I'm always in my room writing tracks
But if you want to get a bad side of me, you can get it too
You
You, you, you, you, you, you, you

I hit a killswitch on negativity
My vicinity got me thinking 'bout a killing spree
All these cowards raping women and children deserve to die
I said what I said, don't need a fucking reply
Real men don't put they hands on a woman
Sorry I'm off topic but I really had to cushion them
From all these crooked men
If we come together then we got the upperhand (yeah)
I'm living in regret everyday
'Cause I couldn't save them from passing away
We need to set the streets ablaze
Begin a protest that's really gon' make 'em hear us
Fuck handcuffs
We pop off like dandruff
Or better yet we a bigger threat than cancer
The government should intervene before we make 'em fear us
I'm a good guy but I'm about to go gangster
Or maybe black panther
Don't mess with my temper

I'm not violent and I'm not inciting a riot
I'm just speaking my mind like I should be
Men who rape women and children deserve to die
For real though
No excuse
Like how the fuck can you do such a thing man?
This is not humanly possible man
This is fucked up
Yeah, yeah
Yeah

The last verse I gotta take it home
Like when I wrote my name on stone
Solidify my spot, I'm coming for the throne
Funny how chicks don't come when I'm home alone
But come when my mom's around without hitting up my phone
Kinda fucked up ain't it?
But I'm really patient
I'm tryn'a come up with a plan to be really famous
But my friends weighing me down
I carry them around when I should be wearing my crown
Now, no offense to the homies
But all you niggas do is get high and scream mother fuck the police
Hood politics is all you niggas talk about
Meanwhile we broke as fuck
And a nigga stressing out
Nigga

I got mad love for all you niggas
But this is getting out of hand
We gotta put food on the table
Get that paper
Make our families proud
Instead of making them scream and shout all the goddamn time
Honestly I'm tired niggas
I'm tired of waking up everyday thinking to myself
For us to make it, I gotta push you from behind
Get up and wash your asses
I don't gotta hold your hands, I'm not your father
Snap out of it, snap out of it
You, you, you, you, you
Longevity nigga
Don't Ask, You're Not Ready two
For real though
Aha
