John Hawkins Band - Peace

Everything is created in the mind
A collage of inputs from the outside
So is it so hard to think you might be blind
To the colors beyond our sight
For we are merely atoms
A formula with infinite outcomes
And if you follow the breadcrumbs
We're the same as the dirt beneath us
Right and wrong are constructs
No manual was here when we first stood up
We try to act so pious
Forgetting what nature has already taught us
That we are all equal in death
You can't buy your way out of it
The best and the worst of us must face it
And everything you've done will be forgotten
But I don't claim to have the answers
To the questions that lead us into madness
Only perhaps a suggestion
That everything is both fact and fiction
Because no one really knows what's going on
And those that pretend to create dogma
But if we find ourselves in each other
For it's much harder to kill your brother
I look at the trees
How they sway in the breeze
The endless march
Of the roaring seas
Let go of your questions
Give them all away
I'm not sure what you are
But thank you for today
