Kevin Luthy - Poetry, Pt. 4

Stones pile up as the wind shifts gears
Standing on a trail of countless years
Mixing up the magic as if it might say
The day of dogs can't end this way

Looking past the shores of eternity
Searching for a taste of your identity
Quick change of pace lifts you up just in time
So poetry is poetry and a rhyme is just a rhyme

Pages turning fast
It seems nothing will last
Trying for the future but just finding the past
Skipping past the answer as you seek the question
Trying hard to teach them but you haven't learned your lesson

A dream is just a dream
Sometimes blessed with a fold
You have to open up the book before the story is told
Looking through words to see the pattern of beauty
But beauty isn't always all that which you see

And as the stones crumble and fall into dust
And green fades away
Metal starts to rust
Still mixing up the magic as if it might say
The day of dogs can't end this way
