Don Anon - Poetry

You're telling me this is how it started
Free change in a laundromat
Norman Rockwell perfect scene American family man

You're telling me this is how it's going
Sunlight slipping through the cracks
Edward Hopper crystal clear glass
American isolation peaking through but fading fast

I'm slow to realize metaphor inside my life
I'm slow to realize metaphor inside my mind
I'm slow to realize

Was it just bad intentions?
Haven't you had enough?
Second hand clothes at the laundromat
Come on you've had enough
Everyone knows you're just one cup away from breaking down
Everyone says something different
How am I to know what's true?
Well everything comes around
And seems to come back to you
I know it's awfully rude to assume

But I'm slow to realize metaphor inside my mind
I'm Slow to realize
Slow to realize

Tryna find backs of notecards
Like I don't know what to say
Tryna find an open window so I can crawl and get away
And I know the story has been told about a thousand times
I'm tryna be an epic classic
Come on Homer write me
Tryna be a poem
I'm tryna live like poetry
Live like poetry

But I'm slow to realize metaphor inside my mind
I'm Slow to realize
Slow to realize

I'm slow to realize metaphor inside my mind
I'm Slow to realize
Slow to realize

I'm slow to realize metaphor inside my mind
I'm Slow to realize
Slow to realize
