The Mackayz - Rise Above the Noise

I've been talking lately to myself
This is my turn
Change is how we learn
So I have to burn
We shouldn't need to always heal alone
This I understand
Which way oh where are we going from here

I am not sitting here like a victim
And I am not a prisoner of war
My minds not a terrible place to live in
And I've a hell of a lot to live for
Press fast forward 35 years
Did I become the master of my fears
Did I touch as many lives as my father did
Did I collect stardust under my fingers
Did I do the right thing faced with a choice
Did I speak the right words with my voice
I was told that I should rise above the noise
Was it corruption or destruction in my cause

I've been talking lately to myself
This is my turn
Change is how we learn
So I have to burn
We shouldn't need to always heal alone
This I understand
Which way oh where are we going from here

Time to settle down
Meant to happen here and now
All I'm hearing is the sound
Of melodies aligning
And the timing isn't perfect
I'd prefer if dad was still around
So he could share this with us I just wish that it would make him proud
I want to do to make a difference
Always want to push the limits
From the start until the finish
So we looking back in years and reminiscing how I did it
Saying this is what we made when we were younger have a listen
So continuously tripping
And revisiting decisions
With the nitty gritty finishing accepting criticism
Living everyday waking up to carry on the mission
Pushing hard against our sanity while tryna feed the vision
So I zone my mind in giving me focus
Spent far too much of my life feeling hopeless
So I put it all behind me got my family beside me
And I'm ready to go where life is gonna flow with this

I've been talking lately to myself
(I've been talking to myself to myself)
Change is how we learn
(Pick me up pick me up)
We shouldn't need to always heal alone
This I understand
(We shouldn't need to always understand)
Which way oh where are we going from here
