Alex Wons - Seasons

I was blinded when I felt so high
I really believed I could've touched the sky
Never did I think I'd come back down
I hit rock bottom, went right through the ground

Well I once met a woman who told me something I'll never forget
She said "I like to think the seasons are a painting that life represents"

The winter white is an empty canvas
Free to paint whatever you choose
Spring is green, all the flowers bloom
And your life will start to blossom too
Then summer's gold and it's beautiful
Life couldn't be better and you're feeling whole

But fall has to come and erase it all
And we're back to an empty canvas in a winter storm

But that's okay
Life will get you down
It might tear you apart
But just look around

You see the seasons change
Colors take a new form
Sometimes you gotta clean up
The mess after a winter storm

An empty canvas means you made it through the hardest part
An empty canvas means a brand new start

The crunch of snow beneath my feet
Is a constant reminder I've lost everything
Why do flowers even bother to grow
In the spring if they're only gonna drown in the snow?

Summer roses don't have any thorns
And I no longer need a fire to keep me warm
But very autumn there comes a time
When I have to helplessly watch everything die

Well now whenever I'm feeling hopeless
I think of what that woman said
Now I like to think of the seasons as a painting that life represents

The winter white is an empty canvas
Free to paint whatever I choose
Spring is green, all the flowers bloom
And my life will start to blossom too
Then summer's gold and it's beautiful
Life couldn't be better and I'm feeling whole

But fall has to come and erase it all
And I'm back to an empty canvas in a winter storm

But that's okay
Life will get you down
It might tear you apart
But just look around

You see the seasons change
Colors take a new form
Sometimes you gotta clean up
The mess after a winter storm

An empty canvas means you made it through the hardest part
An empty canvas means a brand new start

You'll be okay
Life has got you torn
You might think that it's over
But you've been reborn

You see the seasons change
And the painting will too
It goes in a cycle
And you'll make it through

Sometimes you gotta clean up
The mess after a winter storm
For spring is coming soon
And you'll feel its warmth

Summer will circle around
It's not gone forever
But don't hate the fall
For erasing it all

It's only there to erase all of life's toxic parts
And an empty canvas means a brand new start, oh
An empty canvas means a brand new start
An empty canvas means a brand new start
