A Man Alone - She Danced

When she came in, she came just twirling and spinning
Like a cyclone kicking up the dust
All I had were instincts, love covered in lust
She tore through just like a twister on the high plains
When she left on out of here things were never quite the same
A torrent of rain and jaded angry tears
She was looking to be saved
Before I could catch my breath, she was on her way
Now all I have are memories
All she has is the same
It wasn't that she tore me apart
But just how graceful she danced away

I got swept up in the heavy seas
Tried to keep the hatches battened but she
She wanted to flee
Made every attempt to attend to her heart
Her wants and needs
Told her I was in it for the long haul but
She wanted to flee

She fled into the night
I rose at the first light
I watched her go
From the cold floor
How graceful she danced
Out the back door

I moved onto the next town
Just trying to stay alive
She found herself just storming on into someone else's life
With each cycle of storms and rain the violence would rise
As the dark clouds would thicken
So too would her lies

She fled into the night
I rose at the first light
I watched her go
From the cold floor
How graceful she danced
Out the back door

Once again she found herself like a raging storm
Will she finally find herself?
Or will she dance once more?

I fled into the night
She rose at the first light
She watched me go
From the cold floor
How graceful I danced
Out of her door

She fled
I rose
I watched her go
How graceful she danced
Out the back door
