Charlotte Belz - Sun On My Skin

I'm just a kid growing up with the trees
With the sun on my skin and the dirt on my knees
The rustling of leaves is my favourite sound
And the world, is my playground

The mountains and rivers are my closest friends
The changing of seasons bring growth as they blend
The colours of autumn and flowers of spring
Reminds me, youth is a beautiful thing

I'm a child of nature, wild and free
With the wind in my hair and the earth beneath me
I'm learning to love and learning to let go
As I grow up in the place I call home

The birds sing their songs as the sun starts to rise
A new day begins, an adventure in mind
Maybe I'll stumble and maybe I'll fall
But I'll get up and give it my all

As the day goes by and the sky turns blue
I, find the beauty in the things that I do
I look to the sun, never felt more alive
It taught me to live and not just survive

I'm a child of nature, wild and free
With the wind in my hair and the earth beneath me
I'm learning to love and learning to let go
As I grow up in the place I call home

But the walls are shrinking, my world's caving in
My breath's getting shorter, I'm suffocating
I don't understand and I don't want to grow
I'm afraid of what's out there, scared to let go

But the leaves sweep me up and they say it's alright
The stars call out just follow the night
The sand whispers to me, let go of the doubt
And it lets me know it'll all work out
It'll all work out

'Cause, I'm just a kid growing up with the trees
With the sun on my skin and the dirt on my knees
The rustling of leaves is my favourite sound
And the world, I'm yet to figure out
