Haunted Gods - Snaeland

Lost far away in the Sea of Works
Lies the place of which Garðar spoke
Naddodd called it the Land of Snow
And now it will become our home
Hjorleif first went to Vesternnlands
Seeking a raid to fund the trek
Ingolf chose to honour the gods
While we awaited to sail on
When Ingolf was in sight of shore
He threw the pillars of his throne
Wherever they wash ashore
We'll rise our turf
We sailed through the waves
To reach those distant shores
Maybe one day
Someone will sing what we've done
Through the ice and snow
And fire from below
We'll make our way
And Snaeland'll be our home
They parted ways and the winter passed
Then came the spring with a smell of blood
Slaves were tired of wearing the yoke
And killed the ones who raided their homes
"This I see befall everyman
Who won't sacrifice to the gods
Blood's the price for the pride of a fool"
"Who knows if I shall even find
Wooden pillars on the shore
Of this island that I now call my home"
Three years have now flown away
As if taken by the wind
And the breaking waves on the bay
There where we see the smoke arise
From the fountains on the ground
Lies the proof we've long been waiting for
We sailed through the waves
To reach those distant shores
Maybe one day
Someone will sing what we've done
Through the ice and snow
And fire from below
We'll make our way
And Snaeland'll be our home
We sailed through the waves
To reach those distant shores
Maybe one day
Someone will sing what we've done
Through the ice and snow
And fire from below
We'll make our way
And Snaeland'll be our home
