Sandy Rapp - Song of the Camel

Song of the Camel © Sandy Rapp
If you could see the world as I do,
You'd never go forth anymore.
For I've known the killin' of the dragon
And the winnin' of the war.

They march, the princes and the old men,
Their heads are high as they sing.
And they die, the very best among them
For the lovin' of the king.

Everyone I knew went out an bought a camel
Spent a life a tryin' to push a camel through the eye.
Chompin' on the ole hey,
Never even thinkin', never knowin' when or why.

Better you go out and get yourself a camel,
Or let a dromedary take you for a ride.
I heard a dromedary say it,
There's a better way to see the other side.

If you could see the world as I do,
You'd stay right where you are.
And you'd know, the only way to go there
Is travel in your heart.

If you could see the world as I do,
You'd never go forth anymore.
For I've known the killin' of the dragon
And the winnin' of the war.
