The Smivets - Stab

It was the 17th of August
A perfect Summer's day
As the white clouds sailed the summer sky
My summer sailed away
I didn't take a picture
Perhaps I didn't dare
If I had would I have captured
Betrayal painted there?

Never again

My book of many chapters
Just got pared down
As if someone crossed the whole damn thing out
Like it didn't count
So I'm staring at what's missing
Like the victim of a theft
Because nothing hurts like nothing
And nothing's all that I have left

Never again

You think that I would hate you
Send you suffering and pain
But I'd forgive you in a heartbeat
And love you back again
Oh where would I find another
Another such as you
To pluck my heart and stab it
Through and through?
