Yak Zoo - Stanley Wasn't So Manly

So here's a guy, a guy we'll call him Stanley
And Stanley wasn't terribly terribly manly
I mean he wore pants like everybody else
And his stance wasn't so funny by itself
He wasn't into sports for example
But his collection of coloring books was ample
He wasn't into guns or knives or bats
But he sure was into knitting hats
He didn't like to play poker with the guys
But he loved getting up early to watch the sun rise
And it's true he did like to drink
But he preferred a daquiri that was pink
And if you say to me, so was he gay?
Even if you say there's nothing wrong with gay
Hey hey, you should know that you're being a brat
Because sexuality just is not tied with that
I mean why do we define masculinity
With an affinity for all this stupid shit
That's nowhere in the vicinity
Of what it is to be a man
My man named Stanley
Maybe not manly
But he was handy
And his knitted hats were really dandy
For what it's worth
Stanley liked to take a girl to bed
And he honestly had a pretty good head
For knowing what needed to be said
It's not that he was fake or anything like that
But he knew how to write a poem to make a girl gasp
So to speak, cuz I don't want to suggest anything off beat
'Cuz Stanley was sweet, but his passion was real
And in the morning he'd make a yummy meal
And maybe they'd laugh and joke and then feel all the feels
That would send them back to the bed
If you know what I'm saying
My man named Stanley
Maybe not manly
His omelets were fancy
And his poems made your heart dancy
So you know we've got this all wrong
I mean Stanley has been fine all along
Maybe it's just time to redefine masculinity
So that it's more in the vicinity
Of where the future needs our affinity
And maybe we need to look at the word manly
Cuz Stanley was perfectly fine
Man, he was happy and successful and quite a fine dude
So you need to unglue yourself from this stale attitude
I mean it's just rude to be so rigid and exclude
The many ways that we can exude our humanitude
I mean, dude!
Dude
My man named Stanley
Maybe not manly
But sweet as candy
And tougher than... manly
