Sylvie Jay - Storybook

Once upon a time
In a faraway kingdom
There lived a prince and a princess
I wonder what happens next
He thought
I was the belle of the ball
"Attention seventh heaven I got the prettiest of them all"
I fell so hard thought that I was through
Then it took me two years to forget about you
Finally after a long long time
I took a chance on some other guy
Turns out he was still in love with his princess
And I was just a peasant a perfect distraction
Is it too much to want to be swept off my feet
Is it too much to want to be his everything
My storybook ending
My fairytale
But I guess the prince isn't always charming
And I know this may seem quite alarming
But you can't always trust what you see in movies
Because real life just ain't that groovy
I was
Way too in love with our story
But a story can't love you back
Especially not one with characters like that
It read just like a dream come true
But that twist at the end left me black and blue
Starting to feel like king Steve in each season
Had to beat me up to keep the scales even
Is it too much to want to be swept off my feet
Is it too much to want to be his everything
My storybook ending
My fairytale
But I guess the prince isn't always charming
And I know this may seem quite alarming
But you can't always trust what you see in movies
Because real life just ain't that groovy
You helped me understand the Evil Queen
Why she did what she did
And why she was so mean
If you let a prince handle your heart
They'll abuse it and tear it all apart
Is it too much to want to be swept off my feet
Is it too much to want to be his everything
A storybook ending
My fairytale
It's about time that I wrote my own story
Who needs a prince to do things for me
A princess wears her crown in grace and beauty
Such is thy right and royal duty
Is it too much to want to be swept off my feet
Is it too much to want to be his everything
A storybook ending
My fairytale
And they all lived
Happily Never After
