James Wotal - SUMMER TIME
Fourth of July, in the summer time
With the sun shining down from above
I saw the parade with the marching men
The trumpets, horns and the drums
Beauty queens and baseball teams
Politicians and their wives
Old men sitting on the back of a float
Waiving to the crowd as they roll by
Fourth of July, in the summer time
When the carnival comes to town
I went for a thrill, on the Ferris wheel
With my best girl, by my side
Me and my girl, saw the wide world
From the top of that Ferris wheel
Round and round, up and down
Til we finally ran out of time
Fourth of July, in the summer time
Just about nine o'clock
I went to the park, after dark
When the fire works lit up the sky
Crowds of people, sitting there
All looking up at the sky
Watching them stare, at the rockets red glare
As the fireworks lit up the night
Fourth of July, in the summer time
It's a magical time of year
Bumble bees and water melon seeds
Catching fireflies after dark
It's so much fun, but it doesn't last long
And it only comes once a year
So put on your shades, put on your shorts
And go out and play in the sun
