G-Natural - Sunday Rolls Around

Monday I tried to pull a Mike Ross
Put on a good suit, and work it like a boss
But then Tuesday arrived, and I didn't have it
My effort wasn't enough to overcome unhealthy habits
But silly rabbit I said "dag nabbit" tried again
By now it's Wednesday, still time to make amends
Thursday and Friday were good, but I'm running late
By Saturday I'm trapped in my effort with no escape

But then Sunday rolled around
I felt grace abound, and I started smilin'
Because I know when God looks at me
He sees Jesus in my place
And God's mission is why I'm livin'
'Cause I been forgiven, for when I was wylin'
And despite how I feel it ain't
Never too late to make a change

The next Monday grabbed onto a different reason
To think it would go better, I tried people pleasin'
Tuesday I determined not to make nobody mad
By Wednesday they convinced me, every problem was my bad
Thursday kept me busy and I avoided disgrace
But Friday don't test me or I'm smackin' errybody up in this place
Almost lost my mind, bout to go berserk
By Saturday couldn't believe I EVER thought that plan would work

But then Sunday rolled around
I felt grace abound, and I started smilin'
Because I know when God looks at me
He sees Jesus in my place
And God's mission is why I'm livin'
'Cause I been forgiven, for when I was wylin'
And despite how I feel it ain't
Never too late to make a change

The Monday after that I'm sick and tired of defeat
So to make a change, I tried brutal honesty
Truth telling Tuesday was the theme of my day
No opinions held B-A, C-K
Wednesday I would shoot from the hip with both barrels
By Thursday my peer relationships were imperiled
Friday my emotional awareness needed attention
By Saturday all my friends were about to stage an intervention

But then Sunday rolled around
I felt grace abound, and I started smilin'
Because I know when God looks at me
He sees Jesus in my place
And God's mission is why I'm livin'
'Cause I been forgiven, for when I was wylin'
And despite how I feel it ain't
Never too late to make a change

On yet another Monday wanted to make my bosses proud
So I trusted the tech, uploaded files to the cloud
Tuesday I upgraded devices and my apps
Wednesday it was clickin and my work was like a snap
Thursday hit a snag, and my plans got unraveled
My apps updated and and my files were incompatible
Friday's when my tech support engagement was the largest
By Saturday I was ready to throw my laptop in the garbage

But then Sunday rolled around
I felt grace abound, and I started smilin'
Because I know when God looks at me
He sees Jesus in my place
And God's mission is why I'm livin'
'Cause I been forgiven, for when I was wylin'
And despite how I feel it ain't
Never too late to make a change

By now you might be wondering about my story
But just because I'm a Christian doesn't make it easy for me
I'm tempted into thinking who I am is what I do
And people only love me when I remember to follow through
But the truth is I'm loved for who I am
A child of the most high, and covered by the Lamb
And even if I mess up, sin is never my master
Cause everybody falls short, especially the pastor
In this world, people who perform get the juice
You're only as good as what you produce, but
God's grace covers the lost who get found
And if you concentrate, you ain't gotta wait til Sunday rolls around
