Peachtree Poets - Sunset on the Bayou
Down by the water, where the cypress trees sway,
The sun dips low, at the close of the day.
The evening whispers, with a gentle breeze,
In this quiet place, my heart finds ease.
Golden hues reflect on the water's face,
In this moment of peace, I find my place.
With you by my side, and the world so still,
The worries of life, they fade and spill.
Sunset on the bayou, painting the sky,
In your loving arms, I feel so high.
As the day turns to night, and the stars appear,
In the glow of twilight, I hold you near.
Fireflies dance, in the soft, dusky light,
Their twinkling glow, so pure and bright.
We sit in silence, our hands entwined,
In this peaceful scene, our souls aligned.
The water ripples, with a gentle sigh,
Echoing the love, that never says goodbye.
Together we watch, as the night unfolds,
Sharing dreams and secrets, tales untold.
Sunset on the bayou, painting the sky,
In your loving arms, I feel so high.
As the day turns to night, and the stars appear,
In the glow of twilight, I hold you near.
Through the trials of life, and the miles apart,
This bayou sunset, will live in my heart.
A reminder of love, that time can't erase,
Of this serene moment, in this sacred place.
Sunset on the bayou, painting the sky,
In your loving arms, I feel so high.
As the day turns to night, and the stars appear,
In the glow of twilight, I hold you near.
As the last light fades, and the night takes hold,
We'll cherish this moment, our story told.
Sunset on the bayou, where our hearts unite,
In this tranquil haven, everything feels right.
