The Metal Alliance - The Broken Mirror

Come gather around and let me tell you a tale of old
You should all know not everything is as it's been told

Once upon a time in a land so far away
A young girl you all know by name
Is wondering when it will be her day
She is a modern slave, yet she is not to blame

A loving family was torn apart so long ago
Her mother dying, the beginning of this horror show
Gaining a new family oh way too soon
Pure evil oozing out of her father's room

Years have passed when death knocked on her poor father's door
Leaving her in the embrace of that malevolent scheming whore
Chained up, ordered around, to be their personal cleaning slave
Trying to hang on, she was ever so brave

Then a chance to change her predicament came along
Attend the ball and woe the prince to rely on
Her siblings laughed in her face when she had it announced
It quickly turned to hatred then they pounced

Clawing at her body tearing clothes and flesh away
Chained back up they told her there she should forever stay
Left her drowning in her own tears and misery
A wishing star heard her ultimate final plea

Upon learning her deepest wish to finally be free
She was unchained with a stunning dress for all to see
This night all her dreams were coming true
Living happily ever after even though she lost that glass shoe

The broken mirror reflects a picture of someone unknown
Covered in blood, cuts and bruises, with a hunting trophy on a crossbow
Confused she stares into the reflection of familiar eyes
Instantly it is followed by a chorus of bone shattering cries

She wants to portray the happy ending everyone adores
The actual story is far more gruesome then anything before
For years trapped in a delusion of her own design
Her mind couldn't cope with reality so it build its own shrine

After mother's death father didn't look for a bride
She was far too young it didn't matter how much she cried
Bearing him more children was the only thing on his mind
Make him a proper wife, he beat her up to keep her confined
Two daughters later while protecting them with tooth and nail
She mustered the courage to execute her plan she couldn't fail

Convincing her children they could fly by telling them a tale
The first steps to freedom for them, her plan it couldn't fail
Two lifeless bodies on the ground, she's sure they were saved
Time to get the bastard for the all the pain she had while enslaved

The broken mirror reflects a picture of someone unknown
Covered in blood, cuts and bruises, with a hunting trophy on a crossbow
Confused she stares into the reflection of familiar eyes
Instantly it is followed by a chorus of bone shattering cries

Crossbow in hand to send him quickly to his well deserved grave
Cut out his heart blood gushing everywhere, she was ever so brave

Her mind collapsed creating a different reality
One in which her loved ones would be safe to be
She plays them all in her theatre of pain
All characters are just one and the same

Self-inflicted mutilation is what she created
Free from torment, for serenity she waited
No prince will ever arrive for a bride to claim
Her story repeats and it plays out all the same
