John Kirk - The Flood

One day when God looked down
He did n't like what He found
The earth was filled with violence
And wickedness was all around

God saw the thoughts of mankind
They were evil all of the time
He was sorry that He'd made man
And He was grieved deep inside

The end of all flesh has come before Me
So I will bring floodwaters on the earth
Everything with the breath of life
Is corrupt in My sight
So everything on earth shall die

Only one man was alive
Who found grace in the Lord's eyes
He was a perfect and a just man
Noah walked with God all his life

God told him to build an Ark
All within it will have a new start
Male and female two of every kind
Everyone will be safe inside

The end of all flesh has come before Me
So I will bring floodwaters on the earth
Everything with the breath of life
Is corrupt in My sight
So everything on earth shall die

Forty days and forty nights
It rained without respite
The waters rose and lifted the Ark
While on earth life perished in the dark

Finally God stopped the rain
And when the ground was dry again
God brought Noah out from the Ark
And Noah worshipped God from His heart

Behold the earth this day
And all those before My face
Listen now to the words I say

My Covenant is with you
And with all your descendants too
I give My word to every creature

Never again will there be a flood
Or rain from Heaven above
Never again will I destroy the whole world

So I give you as a sign
From now till the end of time
My rainbow set high in the sky
