Off of Commission - The Great Depression

We shoulda been done ages ago
Lost in the snow it felt like it was 30 below
When it was sunny outside the streets were paved in gold
But I was feeling it though, were stranger than folk
I was lost in a haze of brighter days upon a beach with sand so white
I felt your kiss upon my face
But it grew distant
Not sure that I miss it
I'm simply rolling on to write another song about the life we have become
I'll call it progress
A short annoyance in the process we call time a beautiful romance
With a friend for whom I'd die
To give a life to see a smile
Depression is a mother fucker bringing out the darker side of life
It holds me down despite how hard I try
To be resilient you can feel it can't you so go and hide and run away
It's how you deal it every time
This time I raise the blind
I'll see you double and for your trouble I'll turn the bottles to rubble so close your eyes
And think about your future, focus on a smile
I'm so glad that I knew you and we'll meet again in a while

Sing for me we'll turn the lights down low
With no where else to be , I'll take a deep breath and take it slow
We'll talk about the world
I will look at you like we're still in love
Like I gave it all
Like it was just enough for you
And then I'll sing you off to sleep tonight
