April's Atlas - The Lion's Den

Overcast, grey above
Still gold covers the rooftops
Never tame this storm inside
But I can still walk the line

Crashing waves rise and fall
But they're only in these walls
Can still move my hands and feet
That's still in my control

And I can still move quickly
Although the day is dying
Keep standing till I'm tall
And I am powerful

Around my throat
I don't have to fight the rope
It tightens the more I struggle
It's a part of me
I don't have to bleed
I can take it with me where I go

Move through the webs around me
But I don't get stuck easy
'Cause I can still learn to crawl
That's still in my control
Standing till I'm tall
And I am powerful

I am powerful

Can't drown my demons
But do I want to anyway?
When the real problem
Is listening to what they say

We're not always sane
Appreciate the rain
It's the storms that make the branches green
It's our hearts untamed
It's growing pains
It's The Lion's Den at God's mercy

But we're outside of the cage
Roars don't scare at a safe
Distance, yeah we're okay
Up high and out of the way

And rain can be beautiful
Looking through a window
Keep standing till we're tall
And we'll be powerful
