J.B. - Other Side
Grass ain't always greener on the other side
Sometimes it's so hard to get through the night
Hoping as if you love me
Writin' up this message, yeah, I'm writin' up this letter
Hopin' by some miracle you can see this up from Heaven
I wish that I could see you, I wish that I could hear you
This is a letter to my grandpa, cause I know somehow I feel you
And I know that when we lost my grandma, nothing was the same
I should've stayed that night to be with you
I keep thinkin' you would still be here
But I know that's wishful thinking
That's a fallacy to be thinking
And somehow your death's kept me from drinking
But the sound of the Crown just sounds amazing
And I guess I'm kind of lying cause I drink just a tad bit
But I need it as a stress reliever, need it as this life gets deeper
I know that it's no help, no help to be a smoker
Cause that took both of you away from me
But reunited both of you closer
Grass ain't always greener on the other side
Sometimes it's so hard to get through the night
Hoping as if you love me
Grass ain't always greener on the other side
Sometimes it's so hard to get through the night
Hoping as if you love me
And some of these emotions, I had a hard time understanding
Prior to these events, but the sound of beer and cigs are just a myth
It's hard to believe that I'm still standing,
Example A, here's the exhibit:
March 19th of last year, when my dad had a fuckin' seizure
March 23rd, my grandma, diagnosed with lung cancer
And then when it hits May, she thought she was dyin', she was panting
And then on Mother's Day, put down my dog on that damn Sunday
It was unfortunate, but kidney failure kept advancing
And then as things continued, things spiraled, didn't return
So this is a segment of my life, as you guys see it, and now you've learned
And this is what I'm up against when my family's under attack
They tell me to praise God, why would he let this all happen?
Grass ain't always greener on the other side
Sometimes it's so hard to get through the night
Hoping as if you love me
Grass ain't always greener on the other side
Sometimes it's so hard to get through the night
Hoping as if you love me
