Colin Aerts - The Watcher

My dead eye took my dream of learning how to fly
Instead I put a harness on and I learned how to climb
I look down on my town with my own bird's eye view
It ain't a mile high but hey three-hundred feet will do

First frost on tall grass looks like creeping mold
Even here the pavement on main street's looking old
The new neighborhood looks like a checker board
Downtown looks like a chess game after points have been scored

Yeah I'm just pulling wrench but I'm up in the sky
All the little people down there living their little lives
They get outta their hot wheels cars, and into their little homes
Never see the watcher up here all alone

Though we'd be safe here from the city
From here that city skyline don't look so pretty
Everyday folks can't navigate that new roundabout
Everyday I wonder what their little lives are all about

Yeah I'm just pulling wrench but I'm up in the sky
All the little people down there living their little lives
They get outta their hot wheels cars, and into their little homes
Never see the watcher up here all alone

They're selling us as commuter's paradise
Before they showed up well that view was still pretty nice
I see the morning rush each day from eight till nine
You'd think something exciting's going on by the way they get in line

Hey the watcher's up here all alone
