The Seething Coast - Tinker's Blues

Sometimes I think of the protests in DC and civil rights
Sometimes I think it the war we witnessed each and every night
Sometimes of our protest and how so few joined
Sometimes I think some part of me has been left in Des Moines
Sometimes I think of Chris and my sister Mary Beth
Sometimes I think of the horrifying images of death
Sometimes I think of Christmas time in 1965
Sometimes I think how grateful I am just to be alive
Sometimes I think about my folks and how they stayed their course
Sometimes I think of Daniel Johnston fighting through the Courts
Sometimes I think our enemies could be our friends in foreign lands
But most of the time I think about the body bags in Vietnam
Where were you?
Did you make new plans?
We were standing in line wearing black arm bands...
