Rapid ascension, brought to fruition
At the expense of the lifeblood
On which we live and which we die
Omit today in delusion of tomorrow
While the dawns beyond seem too distant
To be worth our time

Paving the way on roads we cannot sustain
While we await their imminent collapse

Fading denial

Lead astray by sirens most unorthodox
Calling out to us by seductive melodies
Songs of gold and strengths incomprehensible
That entice us too close to the sun

Now as we step upon the stage
To raise the curtain to begin
The penultimate episodes
In a tale of disarray
Echoing cries fall denied
By they who would die
With their heads still in the sand
