Every once in a while, peek your head, grab some air

I swear we have to wake up and face the truth

Habits we create won't just be reflecting us

Crazy to think we post content just to get the views
Ignore the context despite the fact that its actual news
Then proceed to the comments just to start a feud
We think we voice our opinion but it's verbal abuse
Argue over topics which you can't provide an excuse
Never is it ok to point a gun at a crowd and shoot
If we argue over that, you are why we can't improve
We won't progress til people change their attitude
You won't ever know what someone's really going through
Until you take the time to see the world through their eyes
Lace them up and decide to walk a mile in their shoes
I was raised to always say my please and thank yous
My parents blessed me with important values
Always treat everyone with respect, that's a fact
You never know how many times they've been ridiculed
You never know how many times they've been attacked

But when they get it they run and look the other way
Refuse to believe it when it's in front of their face
Decide to be ignorant instead of taking time to educate
Themselves, create a better world, create a better place
Use your mind to teach others don't let it go to waste
Spread your sweetness instead of leaving a bitter taste
I'm just saying, I wanna see the world grow
Wanna see us come together fore it's time to go
You never know when that will truly come to be
Sit and laugh today but tomorrow isn't guaranteed
For all we know tomorrow we will be below six feet
So really take advantage of the time you do have
