Jasmine J Walker - Warning

I see salty raindrops that flood these
Halls from the eyes of lost souls
Who once had endless opportunities
And limitless potential
Heartbeats whose purpose once was to beat
For expression hope faith and love
Have now been replaced by dark gloomy
Pestering empty vessels

The faithless preach seeing is believing
But not everything you see here is worth believing
No sun in sight to place His light upon these
Water deprived dilapidated ones
The harvest here has run dry and there are no
Wells ponds or rivers even that can quench it's thirst
No longer workers of earths crowded cave
Some here once were masters of Deception
In their glory days the basked in high praise
From other lost ones on their gilded stage

They never walked in divine purpose
They never averted bad counsel
They never want to believe
They never wanted to be free
They always wanted more
They always wanted to be seen
They always wanted to live in sin galore
They always presented themselves
To be polished and pristine

No one here to cherish and to hold
No faith in this place to speak to their spirits
No shade to cascade is cool breeze upon
These burning souls
No walls around to barricade the flames

Frightened by their own laughs shadows and dreams
But there's nothing more frightening than Me
And this desolate abode I control the keys
At least that's what I'd like to believe

I once was just like them
But I was even better
I once dwelt in heavenly place
I once had instant access to an audience with His grace
I once had radiant wings and a beautiful
Voice that glorified Him every time I opened my mouth to sing
I must admit being in His presence was a gift

Too bad my arrogant ways landed me here
My job now is less glamorous then before
Now I roam the earth seeking those I can devour
I pursue them with my lies
No evidence of my existence is my biggest disguise

If they only knew
If they only opened up their eyes and
Realized what is happening
If only they learn to love him with their
Whole heart
Maybe then Noah wouldn't of had to build
His own arc
If they will only see his face
If only the desire to succeed would match
Their desire to believe

To believe that he is real
To believe that his blood save them
To believe that his grace keeps them
To believe that his spirit guides them
Maybe then my reign would end

But until then I shall prevail
Doing whatever I can to have Him
Send them to this mentally estranged
Physically enslaved, creepily insane asylum
